Melanie Sandford
Melanie Sandford is a Boston-born, Nashville-based singer/songwriter known for her quirky and intelligent lyrics with a hint of sultriness. Growing up as the daughter of a policeman and a flower child, Melanie rebelled from following in their footsteps and pursued the rock and roll dream. At 16, she began performing at open mics and poetry slams around Lowell, Massachusetts, leading to her first EP, "Could It Be?" in 2004, produced by Bob Nash with an Americana/folk flair. In 2008, she formed "The Melanie Driscoll Band" with musicians from Berklee College of Music, becoming a fixture in Boston's bar and club scene. Her talent earned her a top-three finalist spot in Boston 92.5 The River’s Rising Star contest and a listing in HOWL Magazine’s “Top Women Who Rock” in 2009. After recovering from a rare form of breast cancer, Melanie moved to Nashville in 2014, where she married Chas Sandford, a multi-platinum producer, songwriter, and artist. Together and separately, they performed at numerous music festivals, including the 30A Songwriter’s Fest and Pensacola Beach Songwriter’s Fest, and Melanie won “Give a Little Nashville’s” Best Female Songwriter in 2015. In 2019, Chas produced her first full-length album with some of the best musicians in Nashville. "Wonderland," is an eclectic blend of rock, pop, and paisley underground, drawing comparisons to Garbage, Veruca Salt, The Smiths, and The Beatles. One listen to this record and you will be a fan for life. Presently, Melanie is working on her second Chas Sandford produced album which should prove to be a killer follow-up to “Wonderland”.
